    How can a brake lever be both linear pull and cantilever compatible at the same time?

    I saw these levers not long ago. The advertisement says that it is compatible with both linear pull V-brakes, and cantilever brakes. How can a brake lever be both linear pull and cantilever compatible at the same time?

    It's not obvious from the photo but since it's about cable pull they likely have two different anchor points for the cable that are different distances from the pivot (hence the long pull and short pull note), or one anchor point that is adjustable in position using that little adjusting knob on top of the lever (which looks like an Avid patent infringement that they're dodging).

    The only way to tell would be to see the lever pulled out. Most likely the knob connects to a similar adjustable cable anchor like the Avid brakes use.

    It doesn't have "infinite" adjustment like the Avid. There are only two different anchor points for the cables. This affects how (and how much) cable is pulled.
