    Hayes 22mm disc brake

    I just purchased one for my Schwinn homegrown will a shimano lever work with it just as the lever is new thanks.

    That's a darn small rotor, mine are 203mm.

    Hayes use DOT 3 or 4 fluid (doesn't matter, 3's cheaper). Fluid can be found at any auto store, even gas stations. Shimano uses mineral oil.
    What is the model name of the brakes? Then I can tell you if those pads will work.

    22mm is not the rotor size. That's under an inch. 22mm is the caliper mount spacing. I hope you have a rear end that uses a 22mm mount... as this is no longer a common size.

    IIRC, those pads would work.

    Hayes uses glycol based DOT fluid. Shimano uses mineral oil.

    Yes I have a 2000 Schwinn homegrown thats takes that brake.
