Guide RSC: Kool Stop or Jagwire pads?

Anyone use these? they are much cheaper than the SRAM ones, curious if they are worth the savings...

I've used Kool Stops on some Elixir CR's that I used to run. I push them kind of hard, and couldn't tell the difference between them and OEM.

IMO the kool stop organic with alloy backing are MUCH better than oem. Kool stop has more bite/ power than oem so if modulation is a priority stick with oem. I've never tried jagwire pads.

Don't organics have super fast wear?

They wear faster yes, but the metallic pads blow power wise (on the guides). The kool stop organic definitely have some copper flakes in them. Organic comes stock.
    In my opinion-
Kool stop organic> oem organic> sintered

Alligator Ceramic pads. The best. No squeal.

The metal sintered squeal the worst. Both oem & kool stop organic have been silent. I was ready to shelve my guides for something more powerful untill I tried the kool stops. Now I'm happy with the power but they are a little more grabby. I also used maxima 600 series fluid which may have provided a slightly firmer lever...not sure.

Trickstuff 850 Power compound pads. They came out on top of Mountainbike Magazin's latest brake pad test. I have them on both of my bikes, they are a true game changer. Compared to the OEM organic pads, initial bite is a lot more aggressive, as is overall power. On steep or fast sections when pulling the lever you have that little extra in case needed. I'm impressed by their performance.

Hi madskatingco, very interesting. Do you have a link to the article? I'm having trouble finding it.

Disco sintered pads work perfectly for me.
