    Future Shimano brake products

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any information / timing on a possible update of Saint and XT brake components to match the new 2011 XTR style of levers and calipers?

    Thanks.

Exactly. The XT line willl be updated in 2012 and I expect them to adopt the new XTR design. I'm waiting for the new XTs to upgrade my BB7s.

    Thanks for the info.

I was curious because I am planning to buy some Saint brakes this week. I really like the lever design on the new XTR and wanted to make sure the Saints were not being redone anytime soon.

Saint was updated for 2009. Generally Shimano updates their components every 3 years. I'd expect to see new stuff late into 2011.

... just redesign the Saint caliper? They are similar to the old 4 pot XT brakes of around 2002 or so.

I have a bud who recently picked up a set and he's using it with some XTR M960 series dual control levers. He says it has stupid crazy stopping power but with really good modulation.
