    Formula Brakes

    Hello,
I'm a new to disk brakes. I am wondering if it is possible to use rotors from other companies (Hayes EL Camino HFX 9 Sole) for my Formula K18's. Also, I would like a larger rotor size. What adapter's will I need to go from 180/160 (Front/Back) to 203mm (front/Back). My ride is a large Commencal Meta 5.2.
Thank you for all your help.
    Eric

Usually it is possible to use rotors of other brands.... you will need to make sure that the pad is contacting the braking area correctly, so that there is no uneven wear though....

Regarding adapters you will need a 203mm IS-to-PM or a PM-to-PM front adapter (depending if your fork has IS tabs or postmount ) and a 203 IS-to-PM rear adapter. One detail.... just make sure the adapter and rotor are for the same size. For example, I think Formula uses 200mm rotors, not 203mm..... if you use the "incorrect" size, you might to shim or dremel the adapter (depending on the difference you have). So if you are getting the rotors and adapters, just make sure they match....

    Rugbyred,
We have the correct adaptors you need for larger rotors. Here are the details for your reference:
Front: If you have an IS 200 mount: FD40063-10
If you have a Post Mount 200: FD40065-10

    Rear: IS 200: FD40064-10

Crisillo is correct, we use 200mm rotors with our standard kits and would therefore recommend using our rotors (as I would in general with our brakes) if you purchase our adaptors.

Give us a call in the office if you have any other questions.

    Cheers,
