    Fork/Brake Compatibility

I bought a Magura Thor fork which has a 7" PM brake mount, and isn't compatible with a 160mm rotor. I have Magura Louise BAT brakes which are for 6" PM fork. Am I correct in that I can get the QM-6 adaptor and that will solve the 6" PM brakes to the 7" PM brake mount compatibility, and allow me to use the 180mm rotor? Thanks!

    You shouldn't need....

an adapter at all. The post mounts on the Thor give the proper spacing for use of a 7"/180mm rotor without the use of an adapter. Simply mount the caliper directly to the forks post mounts. If the fork had 6" post mounts then you'd need an adapter to use a 7" rotor. That's assuming that your brake calipers are indeed post mount, not IS mount.

Magura Thor required a 7" minimum rotor size(PM) so if you get a 7" rotor you just mount the Louise PM straight up, no adapter needed. I have Wotan with 8" minimum rotor size, and all I need to do is mount it straight up. If you need an 8" or larger then you need the adapter.

    Good luck

Here's the set up with Louise

Another set up with Shimano XT
