    Elixir 5 lever fading

I got these to build up a bike from spares I had. They were pre-bled and new. The hoses were way to long, so before riding them I shortened the hoses. And bled them. The problem is that the lever of the rear brake gently fades on a long downhill until it touches the handlebar. Releasing it gives you your brakes back for some time, but it fades again. It does not leak any fluid and stopping is good. Is it just a bad bleed or should I look somewhere else?

Sounds like a bad bleed. I find the rear brake harder to bleed because of the turns in the hose. Those air bubbles can be difficult to get out.

Sounds like it might be a bleed problem. Make sure you are using a high quality DOT 4 or 5.1 fluid and not a bottle of DOT 3 that's been opened sitting around for months.
