    Disc Compatibity

    Hey everyone,

I just bought a used 07 SC Chameleon that I'm totally stoked on... The only thing about it is... It came with one disc brake. Its an older model Hope Mono M4 (gold anodized)... Anyways, heres the deal...

It's setup up with rear disc assembly but a left hand lever. Im switching over to avid elixirs CR (found a good deal) and am planning on selling the setup currently on it.

My questions are; Are front and rear calipers and rotors the same? If so, I could sell it as a front brake set? How do you propose I sell it?

Ooo.. and if anyone is interested in it, shoot me an offer!

    Thanks!

Get a classified. Don't spam the boards with stuff for sale. Welcome to MTBR.

As far as your brake goes; the caliper you have will fit a front rotor 20mm larger than it'll fit the rear. Is that a 180mm on there? (It's fitted back-to-front, by the way). It looks like a No.8 caliper, so it'll be good for a 200mm front.

It it were me, I wouldn't sell it. Even that original version of the Mono M4 is a better brake than the Elixir.

Well I do like the performance of this brake... but I wouldn't know where to find another. I don't want mismatched brakes because I like to have the same feel for both front end and rear... Any suggestions where I could find one of these?

Get a pair of Tech M4s. Same deal, newer, more, better tech. Nicer lever, too.
Good luck with that, mister 300-Mile Turn Radius.
