    Disc brake question (Hayes 9)

I was just curious---looking to buy a set of hydraulic discs for the wife's bike. Price Point has these Hayes 9 for $50. But rear is only available with an 8" rotor. So, if I were to buy that, and put a 160mm rotor (6") in the back, can I still use that caliper or is it specific to an 8" rotor? I've only dealt with BB7's, so not sure how the hydro's work.

I'm planning to go 160mm F/R, which will be PLENTY for her.

    Thanks.

You can, but you will have to buy a different adapter (and I guess you already have the rotor)

The kit will come with an 8" adapter, you will need a 6" adapter...
