    BB7 & Loctite

    The Avid BB7 bolts I just got have what looks like (blue) loctite on them...I thought loctite was a liquid....

    I use the loctite that looks like a chapstick tube,it is a thick paste.The make it in blue(242),red (271) and purple

    Medium strength thread lockers are the only ones you want to use on a bike. Stay far away from 271 and similar products that require heat to remove.

    I just grease the bolts on my Juicy 7's the same as most other bike fasteners.

    There are many different types of threadlockers. The one used on the Avid bolts, and other bolts to be assembled later, are designed to be be used after it dries.

    The consumer LocTites install wet.
