    BB5 to BB7 upgrade

Does anyone here know if i need some sort of adaptor to upgrade from 160mm rotors to 180mm rotors? I'm in the process of upgrading to BB7s, but I got them used and they came with a set of 180mm rotors. I would like to throw the 180s on.

Yes, you need to pick up a set of 180 mm brackets. Leave the 160mm on the rear and only upsize the front, Too much rotor in the rear will cause the rear wheel to lock up much easier, which is what you don't want. You want modulation

Depending on what fork you have will dictate what bracket you will need.

    thanks frdfandc ...

one more question as i'm a little confused on the manufacturers sizing such as caliper fit, post mount, etc... how do I know which one to get?

    I have a Specialized Rockhopper 29er with a Dart 3 fork.

This is a post mount fork.

And this is an IS mount fork.

Pick the size you need. So if you need an IS to post mount (your calipers are post mount) you need one of these. (this is just an example)

If you need a post mount to post mount.......
