    Avid mounting bolt kit?

So i bought some used brakes, BB7 and rotors. The guy couldn't furnish any of the mounting hardware.

Anybody every go down to the local nut and bolt place and purchase bolts for rotors and caliper mount . Good or bad idea?

Yep, I've had to do this a couple of times. If you've got another bike for reference, pull the bolts and measure the length.

The thread pitch is standard metric. I think it was 50-60 cents for 2 bolts at my local Home Depot.

You'll also need the CPS washers . . . which are just hemispherical washers from any old V-brake kit. You'll need 4 convex washers and 4 of the shortest concave washers, per caliper.
Your local bike shop or bike cooperative should have tons of these on hand.

    Edit:
Wow, Avid sells these kits for $5-7. Definitely go to the store and get the hardware.
