    Avid Juicy 3 vs BB7

I've been using BB7's for a while now and I'm very happy with them. Now I'm planning a single speed for this winter and I see that there are really great prices on the Juicy 3. I don't want to start the same old argument of hydro vs mechanical, just these two brakes please, which do you think will give better performance. Juicy 3 comes with Cleansweep rotors.

I'll give you the standard reply...do a search. OK OK

Juicy 3's give no real performance advantage to BB7s, but are more complex to setup and maintain. (and before everyone starts the standard argument that has already been not asked for I only run hydros on my bike.) Unless you want to upgrade to a more expensive hydro stick with the BB7s, especially if you are happy with them already.

Save some money. The BB7 is better than the Juicy 3 in my book.

Tell me what you get when you search 'BB5' or 'BB7'.

I have Juicy 3's on one of my bikes but have purchased a set of SLX Shimano's to replace them. I just put BB7's on my new (but old bike) build. I was considering putting the Juicy 3's on in place of the BB7's but I'm going to try them out first since everyone raves about how good the BB7's are for mechanicals. While it seems to be just the opposite as far as the Juicy 3's go, seems more complaints vs. praise.

I'll probably end up running both on my new build up just to see what I prefer.
