Avid : from Elixir RSL to Elixir X0,is it worth it ??

    Hi there,

my Stumpy came with a pair of good Elixir R SL.good brakes so far,no complaints. Just for mere aesthetical reasons I was considering spluring into a pair of Elixir X0 given the fact that I can choose the black/red/gold/blue combo. Ok besides the cool looking factor, are these brakes significantly better that the R SL ?? I'm not saying weight wise, just hoping maybe to get a "Formula R1" type of breaks, more smooth and powerful.

    Thanks for your replies

The XO brakes are re-badged CR Mag. They are about 320-340g/end so moderately light and will save some weight from the R. As they are functionally the same there is no performance improvement (unless your 'R's are performing poorly).
