are avid codes 5's any good?

Destroyed the juicy 3's that came with my bike after 2 years of use, never been that happy with them, but they done the trick, but anyhow, i see i can get a pair of code 5s OEM for 160, these any good? i'm about 230lbs btw, so i'm looking for really good stopping power.

also how do you know what kind of mount you have? my bike is an 07 avalanche expert, if that helps anyone?

    cheers

Code 5 is fine. A bit heavy. Codes are a bit more trouble to bleed correctly. More power, even with the stock resin pads. Probably too strong with metalic pads.

Picture worth 1000 words as far as what mount you need. Post a picture. If you stay with the same size rotor the mount from the J3 will work with the code caliper.
