Avid BB7 fit on 2000 Trek Fuel 90???

I'm new to this forum and I need some advice. I've noticed that most adapters for Avid mechanicals are 51mm spacing on the rear. My mount seams to be only 44mm wide. What gives? Is there an adapter?

    My understanding

I believe certain Trek frames take a proprietary frame mount for disc brakes. Ask this question in the Trek forum here on mtbr and I would also recommend checking with your local Trek dealer.

Yeah... as Bob said... Trek used a proprietary mount for which you should be able to get through your dealer... older frames used the Hayes 22mm mount.. that one requires another adapter or a special caliper...
