    Avid 165 & QR 20 ?

    I have a 2001 Marzocchi Z1 QR -20 fork. Can a 2001 Avid 165mm brake set work w/ this fork? Thanx

Ahhh, I just had this question the other day but with an 8" rotor. You should be able to use a Hayes Marzo QR20 adapter. I'm switching from Hayes to Avid mech's and switching from a standard 01 Z1 to a QR20 version. I had the Hayes adapter for 8" and Marzo QR20 and it worked with the Avid. (Mine was off by a tad, so I put a washer in to extend the caliper out just a bit more and it's perfect.) I assume the Hayes 6" would work with Avid as well. Supposedly Avid is coming out with its own adapter for the QR20, but in the meantime they just saying to use Hayes. S

I had to use a 5mm thick washer between the caliper and the fork mount, plus longer bolts, with the Avid adaptor.

Would like to try the Hayes soon, but not sure what to use for the 185mm rotor.

Hi Scott. The Avid QR-20 adapter for 203mm is available now, I have a couple in the shop. Got your message today too, hectic day but I'll call you back tomorrow.
