Specialized stall tactic on Scott's new fs bike

You may or may not know that Specialized made Scott cover up their fs bike at the show because it infringed on the Horst patent. I was told today by a Scott deler they are bringing the design to the US (it's in Europe where the patent is not enforced) by Spring, and that Specialized basically dumped a buttload of paper on Scott to delay their release in hopes of giving new bike buyers one less option: the hype over Scott's new line (both road and mtb) is so big that Specialized thought riders would put on hold their new purchase until the Scott stuff came out, but if Scott was delayed, buyers would hopefully just say "I'm not waiting xxx months," and go buy a Horst-licensed bike.

    Don't shoot the messenger.

Nothing new. Giant originally didn't plan to sell the NRS in the usa because of the US only patent. They were quite happy to restrict its sales to other countries.
I don't post to generate business for myself or make like I'm better than sliced bread
