    Questions about Pacific Rock Stompers

Hi, newbie here. A hobby of mine is finding and fixing bicycles that people are throwing away. I hate to see bikes go into the landfill.

I recently found a Pacific Rock Stomper that I think may be from the late 80s or early 90s. It needs some work. New brake cables, tubes and a chain for sure. But other than that it seems fine.

I'm not familiar with Pacific bicycles and couldn't find anything about them really on the internet.

Does anyone know of any good links/info about Pacific bicycles? How do they compare with other bike brands? I was wondering what year it is and what these went for new. I'd like to fix it up and keep it since it's a decent bike. I like that it's lightweight especially.

They are basically department store bikes which is fine. I wouldn't expect the bike to handle really rough trails, but the late 80s rigid frames make pretty decent beater bikes since they are generally overbuilt and you can fit wide slick tires on them.
