    depends on what you want to do with it.

    but, from the specs, it looks like the second bike has better components...like brakes, shifters, wheels, rear disc hub, and arguably the front suspension....

    thanks for the reply orca...i should have added:

    i'm 5'7" 225lbs...the trails around here are very rocky, technical single track for the most part...they can get fast as well...some good drops in some areas...other trails are a little more stumpy...i do plan on riding it hard though...well as hard as i can
