    It should be fine. OTOH, I would check your front derailleur adjustment. A chain slipping off should be a very rare occurence, if not altogether unheard of if your front derailleur is properly adjusted. When your inner chainring gets too worn, it will suck the chain in into the chainstay from below as it comes off of (or tries to at least) the bottom of the chainring. But your bike is pretty new, so that is why I think your front derailleur adjustment is likely to be the culprit.
