Low profile headset with standard frame.

I am looking for a low stack height headset that I can use with this frame.
Nashbar Double-butted Aluminum Mountain Bike Frame - Mountain Bike Frames

It takes a standard headset but I'm not good with headset specs etc.

I have a fork I want to use but cant with the current headset, im about 1/2 inch short and would love if I could just use a shorter headset and gain that 1/2 ".
Anyone know if this is possible. I have seen other bikes that dont have huge headset like mine.

no, the frame has to be the internal h.s. type to enable to get that full 1/2"
If the fork is a Marzocchi, they can put a new steerer on it. Their factory is
    in california.

YOu will find shorter stack headsets but you will never attain the full 1/2" back
    Good luck.

I needed a short stack headset for my Epic for the same reason. The lowest stack that I could locate was the Crank Brothers Cobalt. Its about as low as you can get in the traditional style with a stack height of 20.56. I don't know what headset you are using, but I still don't think you can pick up another 0.5 inches, I only needed to gain about 3mm less stack.
