    I need a cheap bike.

    Hey guys,

What bike should I buy if my budget is about 100-150$? I'm really considering going to walmart/target/etc. as my LBS have nothing cheaper than about 300$.

Walmart Mongoose? Schwinn from sports authority?

(5'7", 130lbs, probably ride once in 6 months, can ride without busting my ass but no skills to write home about)

Most Trek 820's are like $230 if not cheaper at most LBS and well worth it compared to walmarts selection!

I believe there are some KHS and Diamondbacks avalable for cheap. If I were you I would check out KHS and Diamondbacks website to find dealers. I would also go to any bike shop and tell them your needs, that you need a bike that will be used very little.

Go to K-mart or the other place for that price range, only riding 2 times possibly in a year you'll be fine.

Check out Ebay. If you end up getting your bike from a Dept store, don't expect too much from it...

We got a Magna Divide bike from Target for my son and he rode it for 250+ miles on a trip, up a mountain, hills, rough terrain, etc and the bike held up perfectly and still works great.

hit up a local pawn shop especially near a campus where a lot of collage kids sell their commuting bikes.
