    Which HT Frame ?

    Hi Everyone,

Currently I'm trying to decide waht frame to choose for XC Racing HT MTB bike.

    Giant XTC 2010
    Scott Scale 40 2010
    Kona Supreme 2010

XTC offers lowest price, scale is little bit expensive, and kona is more than twice expensive than XTC.

I'll be doing a lot of XC races, so i'll be using frame with 100mm fork.

What would you choose? Is it worth to pay twice more for scandium frame ?

    carbon fiber

I would be taking a look at a carbon fiber frame. The only way I would go aluminum would be if I was on a tight budget. Here in the US several big sellers like Pricepoint, Nashbar, and Jenson have been selling aluminum frames in the $80 range. Leader frames has been selling several different grades of aluminum frames cheap. If you are sold on aluminum the Giant XTC can be had on Ebay fairly cheap. I like scandium and even though its a type of aluminum it has a softer ride. Its probably not worth twice as much.

Here is an example of a carbon frame-used thats attractively priced. A used frame with the front derailleur and seatpost already included has some "hidden" value as you wont have to be spending more money on those parts. Check this one out
