Got more options besides Specialized FSR xc

i went to a couple of lbs yesterday, ripoff bike tech and another dlr....

My main choice still seems to be the specialized fsr xc, which lists for $1.2K. Dlr didn't have it in stock, as they refered to it as entry level and tried to bump me up to a $2.2K bike.....

    I saw the Cannondale Rush 400 w/discs for $1.3K
Trek Fuel ex w/discs at $1,329, reduced from $1.5K
    Giant Anthem w/discs list $, 1,606, selling for $1.4K

Above three a little above the $1K , i wanted to spend. So at this point will also entertain the Specialized fsr xc w/discs for about $1.5K...

Any thoughts on the above? I like the cannondale b/c its made in USA vs the taiwanese bikes, and it has discs...

Componentwise, they seem to be the same...

Visually? The trek is the ugliest in my eyes..

Giant? Hmmm, I don't know if in the same category as a cannondale or specialized..

help, I want to go on vacation w/my bike and have to buy one... lol

    thanks

Your juggeling the $14-15 range, unfortunatly Ibex is out of the Asta Expert but they do have the Pro's still left in stock at $18. If you check out the components you are getting XT, XT hydrolic disc brakes & Manitou suspension with SPV. Very sweet bike.
