    Boost or not

I'm having a frame built. It's going to be a steel hardtail mountain bike with drop bars, like the Salsa Fargo but a bit more aggressive. Mountain bike, not a touring bike.

The builder asked if I wanted to go boost, I said sure in an attempt to maybe future proof the build.

Now I'm thinking maybe that may not be a good idea. I have enough parts to build 2 non boost bikes.
If I go boost I'll have to buy a new front and rear hub or use spacers and a new crank.

Do you think it's worth it?

    Boost or not

If you use spacers to fit a 12x142 then you’ll be fine with non-boost cranks.

IMO you mad the right move.
