bike for around $1000... freeride friendly

My old P2 just got stolen and i got about 1000 dollars from the insurance company to get a new one. I'm thinking of a New Kona Stuff 05, or a P2 05. I'm Leaning towards the Stuff due to the slightly better componets. Any suggestions on either bike or another bike that I might have over looked? I don't mind buying used either.

    Thanks.

I'd try and find something used. You'll find more bang for your buck that way and there are some nice used bikes out there. Go look at www.boutiquebikes.com I know they have at least 2 used Yeti ASX's for sale on their website, although you might have to chuck up a little mire than a grand. Good luck!
