    Any opinions of Gunnar Groundhound?

I am looking at a Gunnar Rock Hound that is for sale locally it is a older V brake frame that I would build up as a light weight trail bike with a 80mm SID. Do you guys think it would work well as a light weight trail bike? Maybe a little racing novice racing thrown in? How good are the frames? Any idea of what price they should go for? All I really know is that it is in good condition and V brake only.

I thinki mean Rock Hound, sorry

Makes a beachin XC ride , dont think 80mm is going to cut it for a trail bike though .

Thanks to it being steel...should the disc brake bug bite you, a competent frame builder can braze on a disc mount and support for a reasonable price. I had a co-worker once with a late 90's Rock Hound and he had Carl Strong do it for around $275 (in 2003)...looked like it was made that way originally, couldn't tell it was added on.
