Why did my back wheel keep ending up like this tonight?

Happened 3 times that I noticed. It would be super crooked as seen in the attachments, and then my quick release would also be a bit loose. I would undo the QR, reset my wheel, redo the QR as tight as I could...and then it would happen again. I know my derailleur hanger is a bit bent but would that make it do this? Please help, I'm still a maintenance noob trying to learn. Thanks! Why did my back wheel keep ending up like this tonight?-imag0275.jpgWhy did my back wheel keep ending up like this tonight?-imag0274.jpgWhy did my back wheel keep ending up like this tonight?-imag0273.jpg

I bet the skewer is an open cam design, if so I'd get a Shimano or equivalent and in the meantime put a few drops of oil where the skewer lever pivots on the curved washer which will usually allow them to clamp down tighter.

It is in fact an open-cam. Is there a certain model that's the "best bang for buck?"

Maybe the threads on the skewer are busted.
It happened to me once. It caused the nut to slip and loosen.

Pretty well any Shimano skewer will work and are good. I always replace the rear skewer and have started doing the front too.
If you have a bike co-op around your area check their box of skewers. I have picked them up for a couple of bucks, expensive at the LBS.

Salsa or Shimano XT skewers work very well.

Use these. Strong and look cool.

As long as you bring your multi tool you can undo them if needed.

Been great for me on Pugsley and krampus with track ends and zero movement. Between. $12-18 USD.

If not as everyone says Shimano skewers are awesome.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys. Someone mentioned my dropouts may be bent due to my hanger being bent. Hope that's not the case.
