Well I would make sure it shifts into all gears going both up and down with no issues. Ride it around and try to put it under load to see if it ghost shifts or skips. Make sure there brake levers return back to there rest position quickly with no obvious grit in the lines causing them to return slowly or pull hard. Same goes for the shifters. Tires are in good condition and not in need of replacement. Wheels are true with no major flaws like broken spokes. Crank arms are solid and move how they are supposed to move with no obvious grinding noises from the BB. No side to side movement in the cranks. Make sure the headset is not loose.
