Trek Stache 8 first trip out...I like it

I took my new Stache out today and was happy! Climbs awesome, front shock has nice travel, and overall solid performer. Bike weight was nice and felt great to ride.

Not thrilled about the tires. Packed up with mud very easily. I'm not sure about the brake handles as well.. they don't feel very solid. Will be looking at some continental, maxis, pergutory for replacement tires.

My second HT bike and I'm looking forward to more trail riding.

Not sure about muddy conditions, but in normally dry conditions, but I like the XR3 (formerly the 29-3) tires that come stock on the Stache. I like them every bit as much as the Ground Control (rear) and Purgatory (front) combo that has been my tire set of choice for a few years now. Even though the sidewall recommends at least 35psi (IIRC), they don't need any more than 30psi at most.

Posted this when I got the bike. No action shots of my bike on the trail only some of my son. I need to get a Go PRO or find someone to ride with me and take pictures...LOL
