Should be easy to fix, do you have rim brakes or disc?

Basically, it is a setup issue. Let us know what kind of brakes you have so we can give good info....

You have a Marin Bolinas ridge, an entry level alloy hardtail bike with V-style brakes.

Take it back where you bought it and have them adjust the brakes if they are noisy. Check the rims for true.

Read up on your bike here: www.sheldonbrown.com

If you don't know what you have and how it works, expect a pretty miserable biking career. It's a good bike, get to know it and maintain it well, and you'll have a blast. Ignore it and it will fall apart and you'll stop riding it.

    Good luck, Jim

Go there and scroll about half way down the page. It tells you how to stop your breaks from squeaking.

No that's not OK. A bike should NEVER be red. It only be blue, yellow, black, or sliver. Under right conditions it can even be purple, but never red.

ONLY when the side of the bike says it's a "coustom" can the bike be red.
