simple question, diff size bike wheels

This is probably a stupid question, but i'm asking just to be sure..
Is it ok to have diff. bike wheels from diff companies?
(same overall 26" size though there could probably be slight differences in tire, tube, wheel size due to them being made by diff. manufacturers)

Reason i'm asking is that I have 2 junk bikes, if i grab 1 wheel from each bike I could have 1 working bike..

    Thanks
    Alex

Yep, its no big deal at all. In fact, I, along with numerous others, actually run a smaller 24" wheel on the back of my downhill bike resulting in completely different wheels back and front, so a different wheel would be no problem whatsoever. When you do the swap though make sure that they have the same number of cogs on the rear cassette. Otherwise you'll end up with a 7-speed shifting system and an 8-speed cassette for example.....
