    very true!

our daughter is almost 3 but is excited about seeing our bikes in the living room. She hopped on her Dora the explorer tricycle and said " I show you how to ride a bike (she sits down) put foot here (on pedal), put one foot here (on other pedal) and then you pedal!

    I cracked up laughing

My one year old boy goes on the front mounted kid seat (name escapes me now but it has a stinger mount system and it's green?); the 5 year old gets dragged on a trail-a-bike by my wife. It isn't always perfect but we were just out for maybe 15km and that was damn close to perfect. I've had the youngest on my 7" trail bike, commuter, whatever and no - I don't do anything silly while he's on (not entirely silly). Awesome bikes and congrats on the purchase! That Dora bike rocks too no doubt but don't go racing our 35lb Tonka.... lol

    Nice.

Prices look pretty good to me. Last-year's bikes? Looks like on both, you're starting off with forks that you can maintain and keep pretty much for the life of the bike.

Your daughter is a skilled coach. No BS about 26 vs 29, crank length, brake rotor size and what not, just put your feet on the pedals and go!

Those prices seem good for the components you're getting. Pack up some tools, extra couple of tubes, and have fun on the trails-

congrats! i know what you mean about babysitters when riding with a spouse. my mom fortunately watches my 5-year old when it's time to hit the trails.

if you haven't already, check around for used 2-wheelers for your 3-year old. take the pedals off and let her scoot around. soon enough she'll be coasting and riding a bike w/o training wheels in no time.

enjoy your bikes and time with your family!
