    New Cables?

I need new deraileur cables. I have Sram 400 grip shifters and canti brakes. Is this something that I can do myself or do I need a LBS for this? If I can do this myself is there any recommendations for a cable kit?

just measure the total length of der housing and brake housing and have the bike shop give you that much in bulk, then cut it to length yourself. be sure to get cable housing ferrules and cable tips too. if you know how to adjust your own brakes and derailleurs normally, you can install new cables. some suggest that you run your cables dry, i like to drip a little Triflow into my cables even when they are new.

This a good kit at a reasonable cost:

Get one kit for the brakes, and one for the shifters/derailleurs.
