new brakes and hub sugestion please help

I want to put cable pull disk brakes in the rear i have them in the front and i feel like i have much better control of them then the liner brakes in the rear. I would like to keep my rim and just change the hub i have the proper tools to remove tires spokes and rear cassette, however i do not have the knowledge of how to change the hub and get it re spoked in the proper pattern .I guess my question is what is a good hub to get and a good disk and caliper that is cable pull. I would like to stay under $120 but would send as much as $250 to get what i need. This is going on a diamond back response with all shimano deore components. i mostly ride technical trails. also install tips would be greatly appreciated.

The Shimano disc hubs are a good value, but may have different dimensions for your current rim in terms of what length spokes you need, so you may need to add spokes to your shopping list. Building a wheel isn't very hard, try Mike T's page to start http://miketechinfo.com/new-tech-whe...truing%20stand. Sheldon Brown's page on wheels is a good read, too http://sheldonbrown.com/wheels/index.html

The Avid BB7 can be had for a very reasonable price as a caliper/disc combo, and is the best mechanical disc available as well.
