How do you find the seatpost size

I have an old frame without a seatpost. How do I find the seatpost size. The diameter of the tube (where you nsert the post) is 25 mm. Thanks

Take it to a bike shop....

and have them measure the seat tube with a caliper. Most seat posts run around .2mm smaller than the ID of the seat tube. This can be a bit varialbe depending on frame material and stiffness. You can usually get away with a bit more difference in diameter with a steel frame, but not much. The LBS would be the way to go as the should have an assortment of seat post sizes on hand that you can test fit to be absolutly sure.

You can also call or e-mail the manufacturer of your frame and ask them, maybe their website has them as well.
