    Help with bike decision

We are looking at 5 different 5 different bikes for our son. He is 5 feet and stocky, and still growing. We would like to find a bike that will hold-up for a little while.

    Trek 3700
    Trek 3900
    Fuji Sundance 2000
    Fuji Sundance 2600
    Mantis

We were not able to find information about the Sundance 2600 on the internet. Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    BDCJO

Welcome! What type of riding does your son want to do? If all mountain, I wouldn't suggest these bikes. The Trek models you outlined work well on dirt and gravel trails, not heavy mountain biking or singletracks. As for the Trek's I would go with the 3700, not much difference from the 3900 to justify the increase price.

I may be missing something, I'm not familiar with the Fuji Sundance, but Fuji does have a hybrid called Sunfire, which is not design for dirt trails.

Another nice dirt trail bike you may want to look at is the Giant Boulder. Ask your Son what type of riding he wants to do, this will narrow the decision process. Have fun, it's a great sport.
