    derailleur hanger

    Is it safe to remove the der. hanger when we convert to ss? Cause the wheel bolt is screwed on it.Thanks

    In general, it's a bad idea.

    How are you going to tension your chain on this build, btw?

    Some companies offer a dummy derailleur hanger that doesn't actually have the derailleur hanger part, but fills the right void on the dropout for things to fit together properly.

    or you can try and use washers in the place of the hanger but it would be easier just to keep the hanger in there.

    I would keep the hanger and chop off the part that you don't need. Similar idea to the dummy hanger.

    Chopping off the extra bit sounds good to me. You get the clean look, the quick release skewers sit right, and it's cheap. Win.
