Bolt-on axle to QR axle conversion, cannot get sealed bearing out of old axle

I have a bunch of 135mm QR rear axles lying around from a previous failed fix of a previous broken axle. Bought two rear wheels. One I got came with a bolt-on axle. I would like to change it to a QR axle, because I have two functional rear wheels on a 26", one can be for mountain biking with a knobbier tire in the back and one for night road (pavement) biking with a skinny hybrid tire. It's a pain to bolt on/off all the time so QR on both axles would be nice.

I've removed all the bolts/washers from the freewheel side of the axle. There is just two things left to do, remove the sealed bearing and then the final washer inside that, which is the last thing holding the axle in place. I tried for 10 min prying out the bearing with a small flathead screwdriver, no luck. You can see that I've pried the yellow ring around the bearing and the dust cover, etc., but it will not budge. Any suggestions?Bolt-on axle to QR axle conversion, cannot get sealed bearing out of old axle-0921171134.jpg

Tap the axle out of the hub through the drive side so that it comes out the disc side. The disc side bearing should come out with the axle. Then you can tap the other bearing out with a punch of some sort.

I recommend removing that rotor first so it's out of the way of damage.
