Bikes similar to the Specialized Sirrus?

Looking for a fitness/commuter bike that has road size wheels but in an upright comfy position. The frame MUST have holes drilled for a rack at the back and a rigid fork (not willing to pay for a suspension system when it's going to be used on no worse than light gravel/fire roads)

what other bikes that are out there that do the same job from other companies?

What you are looking for are called hybrid bikes - very popular in London.

From personal experience, and in no particular order, I can recommend these:

    - Kona Dr Dew Deluxe
    - Trek 7.x series
    - Ridgeback Day 00, 01; Element; Velocity
    - Cannondale Badboy 700

the Spec tricross is similar and has drop bars for more speed. it has all the rack mounts that you'll ever need.
