    Best mod ever

How about getting off your butt and getting a good workout? Quit spending your money to save 24 grams of weight...get on a treadmill 5 times/week and get faster!

I lost 40 lbs in 6 months and I can say that I'm ALOT faster now...lol

Nothing wrong with getting accessories and stuff, but don't forget to exercise regularly and it will benefit better than any accessory you buy...guaranteed!

LOL. Just got home from an indoor training session with some teammates. My eyes are a little blurry, but I'll be fine in the morning. Thinking about getting a trainer this winter... I'm also several weeks into my annual attempt to take up running again, which is the best I've done in years.

A couple years ago my mom started eating all organic food. She lost 40 lbs in 2 months without exercising. It's all in the food.
The bike is nothing more then circles turning circles, It's the human motor that makes it elegant.

It depends. If it's because working out makes you hungry and when you get home you stuff your face, no, it'll give you a heart attack. Clearly you should stop working out.

Just making a few changes to my diet and actually getting out of the house has helped me to lose 80lbs just this past summer and fall. I'm now riding the trails 3-4 times per week for roughly 60 miles (not sure if that's high / low) and it just keeps getting easier. My goal was to hit 200lbs by next summer and I've now only got about 40lbs more to go. Weight loss, for me at least, is tons of fun when a bike and trail is involved.

I'm actually 6'1 170 right now, 4 to 5% body fat, if and when i hit the gym hard i put on muscle mass and get up to 185 in about 2 months. Just can't get past 185, nor put on more size after that either.

LOL. For people who are already lean, see the discussions over on XC Racing/Training.

In a mountain biker, "fast" is all about power to weight ratio. In a road sprinter, it's a little more complicated and raw power is a little more important, hence big dudes who win sprint stages having trouble in the mountains. Does hitting the gym make you faster? I don't want to go there...

I weigh 140lbs. Losing weight won't make me faster. Anymore weight loss I'll just end up floating away.

I need to ride my bike more. My head gets so fuzzy when I don't do anything but schoolwork all week. Even work-to-get-paid work is a great escape from mind punishing schoolwork, and while it's not intensive, it's not sit-on-yur-ass-all-day work, so it keeps me from hating myself. Too bad there's so little work this time of year.

I floated to the tops of things frighteningly fast at 136.

I'm 6'1, and 150 pounds with a low body fat percentage. Losing weight won't make me any faster. Riding my bike more will though. Handling skills (or lack there of) and bike setup are what is holding me back.
