    26" wheel on 29er?

Will a 26" wheel fit on a 29er bike? Just wanting to know if this will work so I can put some really wide tires on my Sir9.

you're currently 29" wheel and tire puts the tire in the correct spot on the fork for the widest tire possible. by putting a 26" wheel on it, it will be 1.5" lower in the fork and the be hitting the lowers instead of being up in the bulbous part I'd think...

I have run 26" wheels on my bikes in the past, there is no problem with it (apart from messing with the geo.

Disrup has a fair point, so choose a TALL fat tyre.

Yes but if you have V-Brakes or Cantilever you will be SOL, but will work ok with discs I believe.
