    Spitty down

So my beloved 2012 Spitfire developed a stress crack in its top-tube.

Was hoping to get one more year out of her, but aluminum is aluminum

Have a funeral beer for the girl.

So many miles, tons of smiles.

    Good on ya Banshee.

That is a damn shame, but a pretty long life for a hard ridden bike.
Good excuse to get a new one as well & at least everything will still swap straight over.

Ha, yeah it is. I'm thinking it's finally time to get off the 26" grind. She'll make a pretty kickass bit of wall art in the man cave though.

Well, if you've ridden it how it was designed, then you got a good run out of it. I'd check on that deal, but despite being out of warranty, I'd also contact Banshee and see what they might be able to do to help you to get you onto a 2018 Spitty.

I mean, I'll definitely take half the fault for that. She's been well ridden, well beaten. I think it's a shit place for a failure (rig has some deep gauges in the drive side chain stay and it's still aces.)

Basically used her for everyday XC/trail with some light jump duty. No lift parks (we have an old man jump track).

It was a great run with the girl. No ride ended without smiles on that girl.

Although. if anyone has a v1 front I don't think I'd say no.

Probably won't be able to afford a spitty build until 2019 and I might put myself into a Specialized Fuse (I just slapped myself for saying that) That and I have a buddy with a loaner Sinister Shenanigan. I know very few people capable of killing one of Frank's bikes.

6 years of beat down, loved riding. What a run.

What size? I have a large '10 gray ano Spitty that is currently wall art, but I would be happy to pass it on if you could use it.

Do appreciate the offer, but it's a medium.

    Thanks.

Dude, from the looks of your photo, you're running a stem over 70mm in length, so once standover isn't an issue, you could most likely ride a Large with 40-50m stem

I've had three (3) V1 Spitfires go the same way.

I dunno, I'm a weird shape. It's an 80. I've run shorter stems and it just felt awkward to me. I'm 5' 9" so I guess in most bikes I'm kind of on the fence. I like a medium with a long reach or a large with a smaller reach (like a medium reign is like wtf to me.) though I generally feel more comfy on a medium.

Unlikely to see 25% for a while. The sale was backed by Banshee US. Everything is currently on our site at 10% off.

    As LyNx has already mentioned:
If I were you I would jump on the offer from JustMtnB44 in a heartbeat! Stem somewhere between 40 and 60mm and you´re ready for the next seasons.
Most riders I know never went back, once they have sized-up in (frame/reach)length ...
