    Spitfire and 26"s

Currently own the newest model Spitfire with 650b wheels, I'm wondering if any users have swapped dropouts to roll on 26s with the new model?

Main reason I'm considering is to get the CS length a bit shorter to hopefully make the bike a bit more playful?

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Hi, I swapped a month ago from 26 to 650b, remaining with the 26 dropouts. I don't feel the bike less playful than before. Maybe you should first try to change for the 26 dropouts. It reduces the overall length and the chainstays, but also push your bottom bracket higher.

The 26 dropouts only change the chainstay length (10mm shorter than the 27.5 dropouts) they don't affect BB height. I swapped to the 26 dropouts a few months back, after almost 2 years on the longer ones, still running 27.5 wheels (with 2.3 Minions), and the bike definitely steers quicker from hip/weight shifts. The chainstays are shorter on the 2016 Spitfire but I don't know if that's affected the tyre clearance at all.
