Looking to purchase Rune today - could use quick opinions

    Good morning

I am thinking of purchasing a new Rune with a Float X2 shock.

I am wondering how the Rune pedals. Can I tune it to pedal as well as my wife's Yeti SB66?

How quiet or noisy is this frame? Are there any chain slap, cable noises or any strange traits that might turn me off?

    Thanks

I'm sure you will love the bike. You will need some sort of chainstay protector to silence chain slap. I use the old tube trick as I'm cheap. Cables are all external and are fastened with zip ties so you should have no noise.
Make sure all suspension pivots are lubed and torqued to spec.
I consider the bike a pretty good climber. I have it in the low setting and never had an issue following my friends on their plastic rigs.

    Enjoy your new bike.

I don't disagree with anything said above. Can't make a Yeti comparison but I find mine to climb as well or better than the DW Link rig it replaced. My Rune is a '14 with 26" wheels, FWIW.

I ride a '16 XL Rune and it's a great climber even with a 170mm travel fork. I run it in the high setting most of the time unless I know I'm going to be doing a lot of DH. No noises from the suspension or cables and chain slap isn't a problem with a guard in place. I had an old Roach velcro sleeve that I put on this bike and it eliminates all the chain slap noise.
