Aftermarket thru axle for 2017 dropouts

I'm looking to get a bolt on thru axle rather then the DT RWS that my Spitfire shipped with.

Has anyone tried any yet? Any recommendations?

What is the thread pitch, what standard does the new Banshee 2017 dropouts adhere to?

    Thanks,
    Kent

Dt swiss rws 12x142 should be E-THRU standard, so the thread should be M12x1.5

Shift Up and Carbon Ti offer light bolt on E-THRU axles. (take care to order e-thru, since they also offer maxle and x-scott versions)

If it is the same as the 2016 frames and you have a 12x142 (not boost), PM me if you want to unload the DT RWS, I'd be interested.

As far as I know 2016 frames were Maxle standard (M12x1. 75) = not compatible

@builttoride would you care to help us clarify what axle is needed?

    Thanks,

What don't you like about the RWS axle? Seems like a nice upgrade over the standard bolt on axle on my 2013 frame.

Yeah it's nice upgrade but I just prefer the look of a bolt on. Same with my RS Pike I put a Maxle Stealth on that to get rid of the handle.

The dropouts are maxle standard, so M12x1.75mm thread. There are a lot of options out there, but the length of the axle is critical. 178-182mm total axle length including threads.

I can't find any bolt on axle except the ones from CarbonTi. But they are either too short at 174mm or too long at 192mm. Any recommendations, pls? TIA

    Just in case anyone wonders:
I've had great success with on my 2017 Boosted Phantom with this axle

Maxle Stealth Rear Thru Axle: 12x148, 180mm Length, Boost

really great fit, it's really flat and sits below the surface of the stays.

Original DT swiss RWS lever got snapped pretty fast and it was PITA to get it removed without the lever.

I bought this one as well, SRAM parts number 00.4318.005.028, works an absolute treat. Thanks for the tip @geoya ! (45 grams vs the 61 grams for the original DT axle and lever but who's counting? )

I've been running Hardlite axles in my bikes anymore.
