Do I "need" a DH bike? North Island

Hello all, I'm moving to Upper Hutt in January and wondering about bringing a new bike into the family. I have a 2017 Specialized Enduro as my go-to ride. Also have a 130mm XC bike.

So, I'm wondering if there are any trails where I would want a DH bike? I would prefer to pick it up here in the states before I head out. Honestly, I want one anyway...

    Thanks for the help!
    -Ken

TBH your enduro will suit you better here in Welly. There are no uplift services around(yet......) and shuttle-able trails are minimal, everything well almost everything is pedal up. Once you get to the top tho the down will defiantly flick your bean :-).

Makara Peak,Waiu Trail Park and Mt Victoria just to name a few, have some mean as descending trails

Thanks for the local info! Ive had great luck on my Enduro lately. Been working my way up on feature size this summer and hoping to keep it going in NZ. But, it looks like I'll have to find another reason to pick up a DH bike. Is the riding in Rotorua DH bike worthy?

Yep Roto's is good for DH rigs. Skyline in particular. It has a gondola and some awesome flow and jump trails. Redwood forest (Whakarewarewa Forest) has a shuttle service that runs year round and services a awesome section of the forest. Again, most of the trails there would suit a long travel Trail bike imo but some trails like Little Red Riding Huck and Huckleberry Hound will be killer on a DH.
Arapuke Trails is about 1.5 hour drive north from Wellington and it has a shuttle service on site. Trails are pretty cool tho the park is relatively small in size.
