Ya, the "Which Oakley lens?" thread...specifically Prizm lenses...

Ya, I know there is tons of lens info out there. I read some and ordered a set of Road Prizm lenses for my Flak 2.0's. I have the darkest grey option and those are good for daily wear as I have sensitive eyes (even wear them in winter here) but looking for something with more contrast that doesn't mute the view quite as much for trail riding.

(Talking Prizm lenses here) I debated between the Trail, Road and Outfield. The Trail seem good for wooded areas where shade and sun comes in and out, or lower light/overcast days but here in Phoenix it's full on sun on almost any trail, all year round. Anyone using the Outfield (or Road/Trail)?

I have both the Prizm Trail and the Red Iridium. The trail's are lighter than expected, but work great in tight forest singletrack where you have lots of shadows and cloudy/foggy snow days with flat light. The red Iridium are pretty much the same lens but darker. I would not recommend the trails for bluebird days or any desert riding with scant shade.

I live in SoCal and use the Prizm Trails every single day in bright sun. Best glasses I've ever worn; hands down.

Ha, I like where this thread is going.

Each following post should include nothing but location, daily driver, and bike. (Lens color is optional)

Tucson, Subaru WRX/old GMC Suburban/Honda S2000, Santa Cruz. LOL

Prism Road for driving, but I use the Oakley photochromic iridium for riding. Gets about as dark as the Prism Road in bright direct sunlight, goes almost completely clear in the dark, and adjust in between and seems to have just the right amount of tint for me 95% of the time. (The other 5% it is just barely too light riding into the sun late afternoon early evening, or just barely too dark when I first enter a densely wooded area from completely exposed bright sun... in both cases it is useable, just not quite ideal)

Ahwatukee/Pasadena, Honda Accord, Evil Calling. When I ride in CA I wear a f***ing bell and miss AZ.

Got me a pair of Smith Ridgeline's with their "chromapop" and polarized, online for about $90, and damn good in most situations. Dark tint but still usable in shadows and transitions. Never once slipped even though they're everyday glasses and not bike specific. Poor sweat management but I just deal with it since they're also my everyday shades. All around solid product and great deal for the price.
