I'm glad they will not euthanize the jaguar, but they should consider euthanizing the moron who crossed the barrier for a selfie.
The only trace I leave behind is tire marks.

This is the second time this has happened if i recall. They need to prevent people from being able to get so close. What happens when it's a child.... People will call for the animal to be put down... need to save the cat from its self.

As I understood it, she went through a primary containment fence into a buffer area and was leaning against the main fence.

We sure love to jump all over stupid, don't we?

The woman apologized for her bad judgment. That's refreshing all by itself. The zoo acknowledged that a similar attack by the same jaguar previously injured a zoo employee. The jaguar will not be euthanized for being a jaguar. Happy ending all the way around, I say.

    Carry on.

She apologized, and then the next day in an interview said the barrier may need to be moved back for added safety. *Will this prevent her and other morons from continuing to cross the new barrier? Jaguar is alive, that's the important thing.

Well if it's happened twice and one of the "victims" was a zoo keeper, they may want to consider moving the barrier back. From the photo I saw the enclosure fence was within reach of an average sized person. Now we know that the jag can get his paw through the fence. Seems a reasonable thing to consider, no?

The jaguar/panther is the third largest cat after lions and tigers. They are generally built heavier than a cougar.

    Ha!Ha!

Had the woman died there would be a greater chance the cat would have been euthanized.

I am also glad that they did not put the animal down...I hate when others suffer for human ego/greed/stupidity/ignorance etc...
